PRINCETOWN UNITED CHURCH

The Princetown United Church is located in the beautiful rural setting of Malpeque along the north shore of PEI.
The first Christian worship service recorded, was celebrated in the area in 1770. The first church in this community was a little log church. By September of 1813, the log church had been replaced by a new structure, on the site of the present day church.
Our Church holds a lot of character with its decor, the original wood floors, stained glass windows and beautiful pipe organ, which was installed in 1918 and it is still in use today. The interior is very unique and beautiful while maintaining some old with the new. Our overhead screen and projector is a great addition.

The Princetown congregation consists of many active groups and board members, senior choir, Sunday School, Session, Trustees, Stewards, UCW, Christian Council Reps, and Christian Events Reps.
The members and adherents of the Princetown congregation actively share in the work of the Stewards, bake sales and ice cream socials, gospel and variety concerts and Fish-Fry meals.

We continue to welcome many visitors during the summer months as we are located in a large tourist area including Twin Shores Campground and Cabot Beach Provincial Park. The seasonal cottage owners who come back year after year, attend our worship services and are located in the surrounding communities of Malpeque and Darnley.
The large property of the Princetown Church can host large festivals; has a paved parking lot, wheelchair ramp with a wheelchair accessible washroom. There are four rooms including a small kitchen, that is used for Sunday School, Choir, supplies, and a large room upstairs once used for winter worship services.

The community of Malpeque and the congregation of Princetown United Church welcomes all to our beautiful community and our historical Church.

There is a lot of history surrounding the Princetown United Church and this area which we have decided to include as a link to this document. One of the celebrations our congregation participated in was our 2014 weekend festival which was a three day event coinciding with the 150 year celebration of Canada. Historical Malpeque (makpaak) 1864-2014 also has great photos of Princetown United Church and surrounding area.
